Help Contents || Previous || Next 3. Installation of Administrator Program Follow the same steps as in 2 and create another web site. In Web Site Creation Wizard set Home Directory property to c:\Inetpub\admin. Also, make sure you give your Admin web site a different TCP Port than to your Web dB Server site. Using Windows Explorer locate c:\Inetpub\admin folder and select Admin.ini file. Right-click on Admin.ini and select Open from the popup menu. You should see several lines of text, for example:
If you have used the default installation folder you don't have to change DirStr, WWWRootDir, DataDir and AdminDir settings. Set DomainStr to the IP Address and TCP Port you have used to create Admin web site. Also, set userid and password (Adminid and Adminpass) required to log into the Administrator program. Finally, set the IP Address (SecureIP) of the computer from which you will be accessing the Administrator program. You will also have to set the same IP Address in the Properties of your web site (Directory Security tab - IP address and domain name name restrictions):
It is very important for security to limit the access to the Administrator program to a selected 1 or a few computers. If you don't do it you are risking that an unauthorized person could delete your data. Finally, to verify that Administrator web site setup is correct start a web browser on a computer authorized to access this web site and type in the following: http://myadmin/admin.dll where http://myadmin is the same as DomainStr above. You should see the following log in screen:
